What makes your product unique?

This is not a scrapbook kit. In a kit, you have to do all the work and you’re stuck with the hearts, paisleys and flower pages that come with the kit. No Grandparents page? Too bad. Our books are customized and come pre-assembled, so all you (or your giftee) have to do is add the pages. In addition, there are handmade dimensional elements throughout that make these books more personal and give you that custom-made feel.

This is not an “upload your photos” system. We’re talking handmade books here; ready for you to drop in your own photos or give as a gift for an expectant (hip) mom. You don’t need all the photos now. We wanted a book that would cover the first year of baby’s life. Do you really want to wait a year to load pictures into a website?

When it comes down to it, we created a memory book for those folks who don’t have the time, energy or creativity to create their own. We offer a hip, unique look with the only work you have to do is put pictures to pages.

How are the books protected?

The pages in the book are fully protected and archival—the photos won’t curl or turn brown. If the pages get sticky when the baby picks it up after eating waffles just wipe it off!

Each binder is covered with a custom-coordinated pattern. We recommend that you keep your book out of extreme heat.

What if I want to add more pages later?

No problem! Just come back to HipsterTots.com and click the Buy Individual Pages button. We will ship your new pages to you in the same protected sheets as your other pages. Our books are expandable. If you want to add a page after purchase, the books have a special binding that allows you to do just that.

Why Hipster Tots?

Obviously our designs are unique. You may be a little tired of the same old hearts and daisies or rattles and blocks. Or you’ve seen enough of a certain silly old bear for a while. We like to think that just because you are having a baby, doesn’t mean that you’ve lost your hip-ness.

This is a book for you. It doesn’t match the wall paper, it matches your style. (Though if it does match the wall paper-call us, we may have to redecorate.)

Why ask for the birth or due date?

Before you check out, we’ll ask you for your little hipster’s birth or due date. Why? One of our staff members is an expert in child development, widely quoted and published. She has made sure that our pages actually follow the milestones of your baby—from sitting up to first tooth to first steps – and when you receive your book, the pages will be in order based on your little hipster’s birthday.

Born on June 1? Then the summer page will be in the front and the spring near the back. Born on February 14? You know you’ll want that Valentine’s page right near the front.

We’ve made sure that other life milestones are available as well, including first holidays and first travel experiences. Design your book around these milestones (as the Boutique book is), or choose to do a holiday-centric theme. Or seasonal. Or mix and match your own unique series. It’s all up to you.

Why do I have to choose at least 20 pages?

Our books are designed to capture the first full year of your little hipster’s experience. To do that, we believe you need at least 20 pages to get there. Plus, most all standard scrapbook albums come with 20 pages, so we want to make sure you are getting your money’s worth.
